The Reading List
Since starting this journey - I have invested a lot of money into reading resources!
While this guide is not at all every book that should be read, they are some that have had a big impact on my life. You can probably tell I love books that are entertaining and written by fellow female entrepreneurs!
Girl, Wash Your Face - Rachel Hollis
This book was a great insight into the head of the Hollis Company, the lies we tell ourselves as women that hold us back from being the best versions of ourselves.
It was very entertaining and insightful!
High Performance Habits - Brendon Burchard
This book is game changing - on the same level as Dale Carnegie or Stephen Covey. Brendon has spent years researching the habits of high performing people and narrowed them down into 6 habits. You can take the test for yourself in the link above to find out where you sit and understand what steps you need to take!
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck - Mark Manson
This was the book that really made me move and take ownership of my life. There are so many gems in this book, like “Who you are is defined by what you’re willing to struggle for.” I'm really grateful my mate put me on to this one!
Believe in Yourself and Do What you Love - Kate James
Kate's books are just little bundles of heart warming tips and tricks to live your best life. Kate has 4 books out now and each are inspiring and motivating to live your happiest life. The one listed here was her first and one that really opened my eyes!
The War of Art - Steven Pressfield
Not to be mistaken with the Art of War (I always get the words around the wrong way). This poetic book is a wonderfully insightful take on how we can push through resistance and fear, in order to encourage our creativity to flow. We can't just wait for inspiration to strike - we need to encourage the muse by sitting down to do our piece daily.
Playing Big - Tara Mohr
You get deep quick here! Tara guides you through addressing your inner critic immediately, and the process is quite overwhelming. She also provides guided meditations and tools that you can access online.
The Goddess Revolution - Mel Wells
This was the first self development book I read that put me into the world of coaching. While this book is more about becoming friends with food, it spoke to me in so many ways, and encouraged me to make a number of changes to my life. It's really about loving who you are, and quite poetic in how it's written.
Now Is Your Chance - Niyc Pidgeon
This book has 30 positive psychology tips for you to put into practice - focusing on your mind, body and soul. I loved the tips and even read this twice!
Health and Wellness
Rushing Womans Syndrome - Dr Libby Weaver
I read this book when I moved to the UK, I thought my eating was 'healthy' but this book opened me up to more than just health being 'what you eat'. I recommend this book to any woman of any age, I keep going back to it! I've also read Exhausted to Energised by Dr Libby Weaver, however found a lot of the information was the same with only a few additional pieces I picked up.
Why we Sleep - Matthew Walker
I have told every person I possibly can about this book! It has changed the way I view sleep - I now see it as an essential part of my life. Sleep science is FASCINATING, and Mr. Walker's way of writing gives you the science, then a relatable anecdote so you actually understand what's going on. One of my fav books of all time.
